Liz is a class act at delivering jazz standards, ballads and blues. Her emotional song experience is transferred to the audience through her unique tone and expressive performance. Liz draws influences from the great to the contemporary including Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Madeleine Peyroux, Claire Martin, Juliet Kelly, Etta Jones and Sarah Vaughan. Her voice is rich and melodic and her style has been described as mellow and smooth.

Born in Liverpool Liz studied classical piano as a child and followed her family tradition into choral singing. It wasn't until she started listening to jazz and blues that she found her musical identity. She recalls, "there wasn't much to inspire me from my peers at school, but I found a connection with the sound of jazz and blues".

To further her journey Liz took herself off to The Guildhall School of Music & Drama Jazz Summer School and night classes at the City Lit in London. Liz attended vocal workshops including the Fiona Duncan Vocal Jazz Workshop in Edinburgh. She also experienced vocal training with Anita Wardell BBC Jazz award winner and UK jazz singer songwriter Juliet Kelly.

Liz is currently working on a song collection as a tribute to the career of Etta Jones. She states, "Jones was an understated but dynamic interpreter of jazz standards, ballads and blues. I'm looking forward to performing some of her most well known song recordings including Don't Go To Strangers and Save Your Love For Me".

‘Life is like music; it must be composed by ear, feeling, and instinct, not by rule.’ Samuel Butler
